How To Meditate
Hello everyone and welcome to my website about meditation and
personal development. I will cover many areas of meditation, it's benefits and some of the different meditation
practices that you can start to do today. We will also take a look at some of the more
popular esoteric practices that you can use to intensify your experiences.
Meditation is no longer considered to be only an Eastern discipline and is spreading throughout the world at an
amazing rate. People are starting to realize both the physical and mental benefits, and are using meditation to
help themselves to deal with the stresses and pressures of our fast paced modern society.
In the last decade, there has been many scientific studies about the
benefits of meditation, mainly due to the wide availability and increasing sophistication of today's modern
technological advances utilizing an array of brain-scanning techniques.
For instance, scientists have recently discovered that after several
months of intense meditation training the brain activity measured a significant cortical change in the pleasure
centers responsible for increased happiness. They have also noted that meditation can increase a persons perception
well enough to help them uncover details about their lives that they might otherwise have missed had they not been
using meditation..

How To Meditate
Deeply
The basic ideas of learning how to meditate are similar among many different
disciplines and cultures. This stays true in every aspect of practicing meditation, from learning how to breathe
properly, proper posture, when to meditate, choosing the right environment, planning your meditation and
understanding our thoughts and emotions.
It is important to take all these things into consideration but don’t get too
consumed with perfecting any one thing when you begin to learn how to meditate. It will take effort and the desire
to experience an enlightening and joyful meditation as you begin to unfold the multiple layers that define who you
are and experience the wonderful benefits of meditation.
Choosing Your Environment
When you are learning how to meditate it is important to find a place that is quiet, free from clutter and
comfortable. You may choose a room in your house that fits this criterion as long as the room gives you an
uplifting feeling and is private enough to allow you to spend at least twenty minutes uninterrupted.
Do not overly concern yourself with finding the perfect spot it will come in time
and as you continue to use the same meditation spot you will be changing the energy of that spot so that it will
hold the vibrations you are emanating. This will help you to reach a deeper state of meditation in a shorter amount
of time as you continue to program your meditation spot.
When To
Meditate
Try to develop a routine and a regular time that you meditate
every day. A good time to meditate would be in the morning when you haven’t been bombarded with the stresses
and demands of the day. These mental and physical demands place a lot of stress on our minds both
subconsciously and consciously and they become harder to let go of when we try to relax and calm both our
bodies and minds.
Be consistent with a daily morning ritual and you will notice that your day will
unfold in a much improved joyful manner.
Planning Your Meditation
Planning your meditation is important when
you start learning how to meditate. The right state of mind is crucial if you are going to be productive. If you
come home from a long day of work and then just sit right down and meditate you may spend the entire meditation
trying to calm your mind. You would be better off if you took a short walk to relax the body from all the stresses
and sensory input of the day.
If you are tired than maybe you can take a cool shower or even an energizing
fresh fruit drink. I will use fresh carrot and beet juice to give me the energy and focus I need. Using some simple
pre-meditation practices will help prepare the mind and the body for a productive and enlightening
meditation.
